Children’s Fairyland has been an Oakland gem since 1950. Arthur Navlet, a nursery owner came up with an idea to create a storybook theme park. With the support of the Lake Merritt Breakfast Club and the citizens of Oakland, he raised $50,000 to build Children’s Fairyland – a place where families can take their kids to see fairy-tale scenes and live entertainment.

Today’s Fairlyand has close to 40 storybook sets, kid-size rides, animals and gardens. Kids under the age of eight years old are to be especially delighted by the sights. In order to enter you must come with a child, or, wait for an Oaklandish event for the adults only evening events!
