Open since 2008, Camino Restaurant has come to form a prominent part of Oakland’s Grand Avenue landscape since 2008. “Camino” in Italian means fireplace, the primary cooking method for this hotspot.
Camino’s head chef, Chez Panisse alum Russell Moore, presents a simple California-Mediterranean menu featuring what’s fresh (local and organic) that day cooked over an open fire.
The large dining space walled in with red brick is made cozy by all-communal seating and warmed by the open kitchen’s wood-burning hearth.
