Here at LLO, weekend’s start on Thursdays so here’s a few ideas to get you from woe to WOO!
Thursday June 22
Take an E-Bike Ride to Jack London to watch The Lost Boys with GenZe. Jack London Square shows outdoor movies every summer near the waterfront. If you’re early you can grab a snack or test your knowledge during the pre-show trivia challenge. If you’re biking, meet at the Oakland Experience Center around 6:00pm. To skip the ride and still watch The Lost Boys get there by 8:00pm and bring a blanket!
Friday June 23
“Mood City” is the perfect name for Philip Hennen’s photography series that captures the Bay Area through his artistic lens. Hennen doesn’t shy away from his interpretations by presenting in color, monochrome, fantasy, and reality. This series is not to be missed, it will be featured at Joyce Gordon’s art studio in Downtown Oakland, their hours are 11-6.
Saturday June 24
The Montclair Fine Arts Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday. Over 65 Bay Area artists will be displaying their talents, so perhaps it’s time to finally buy some art for your home or some gifts for your loved ones (or even a belated father’s day gift – oops!) The Montclair Beer & Wine Festival will also be taking place during this event, we think the name speaks for itself, think – BEER & WINE.
Sunday June 25
Kick-off Oakland’s Wine Festival at this soiree and silent auction! Sonoma County wines will be poured during this seated event at the Claremont. After the wine tasting there will be a lively soiree where there will be more wine (of course), delicious food, and a silent auction. Bond with winemaker’s over a glass of their finest and meet new friends! 2:30 – 5:00 pm, purchase tickets in advance.
